I know the Olympics are almost over, but better late than never to post my Team USA dress! I sewed this the morning of the first day of competitions, to wear to an Olympic themed going away party.

Instead of doing elastic thread to shear the bodice, I sewed and elastic band to the top and bottom of the bodice.

It has been the perfect dress for cheering the USA on to gold!

Yesterday was a perfect first pool day of the summer. Here, amidst the drying towels, is my polka dotted pool cover up:

I used left over fabric from my Very Easy Vogue V8631dress (still in progress), for this simple dress.

Happy sunning and swimming!

The top of this dress may look familiar, as it used to be one of my favorite shirts.

Now I want to turn all of my shirts into color blocked dresses!

I had high hopes of making my own dress to wear to an outdoor wedding this summer. The dress was to be green, linen and strapless.

The big side bow turned out nicely.

As did the pleating in the back.

There were some imperfections along the way.

The largest of which was the top, it was too big. And even with boning, I could not get it to lay correctly against my body.

Good thing I packed a backup dress!

I like matching with my boyfriend:

clb made dress and matching belt!

clb made dress and coordinating (but store-bought) shirt.

In honor of family pool time at my grandparent’s, I made sundresses for all the ladies in the family.

They turned out a little shorter than planned, the perfect length for a cover up!

The perfect dresses for singing along to my country favorites!

Cool, breezy, and lawn ready!

A while back, I made this magnetic fishing set for a little buzzard:

Unroll the felt mat…

And go fish!

Now the buzzard is a big brother!

His baby sister deserved something sewn as well:

Complete with bloomers!

Welcome sweet peach!

I had a baby girl in mind when I made this.

And I can’t wait to meet her when she is born this month!
