On Monday, I will be mailing a package full of bunting to a laid back little boy who turns 1 this week.

Can’t wait to see how it turns out for his party!

I know the Olympics are almost over, but better late than never to post my Team USA dress! I sewed this the morning of the first day of competitions, to wear to an Olympic themed going away party.

Instead of doing elastic thread to shear the bodice, I sewed and elastic band to the top and bottom of the bodice.

It has been the perfect dress for cheering the USA on to gold!

A little late, but still fun.

A night time photo of the red, white and blue bunting I made to celebrate the 4th of July.

Independence Day marks three years of me and this guy:

Here we are on our first anniversary, wearing matching belts. I hand sewed those reversible stars and stripes ribbon belts. My sewing skills, and our relationship, have come a long way since then.

Happy 4th of July!

I had grand plans for this post. Me, in my new red ruffle seersucker top, smiling, proudly waving an American flag; supporting the Rolling Thunder as they crossed the Memorial bridge into DC on their 25th First Amendment Demonstration Run. It was going to be cute!

However, I was super sweaty with horrible hair after the long walk there. Nothing about me was cute.

All I have to share are two cropped photos to show that I was there, in my top, waving my flag.

Happy Memorial Day!
